Fergmann Window Solutions Ltd specialise in Timber Sash and Case windows. We specialise in sash window restoration for all Georgian Victorian and Edwardian era properties. Discrete changes have been made in recent years to suit modern requirements such as incorporating Draughtproofing and Glazing.
The majority of these windows will require restoration or refurbishment at some stage during their lifecycle. Restoration is always possible and indeed preferable to a complete replacement.
The main areas of rot are normally the sills and bottom rails, these timbers can all be replaced/restored. If the rot has penetrated the window too far a new sash or case may be required. Rotten timbers, paint bound sashes, broken cords, drafty sashes that open and close on their own, sashes that rattle when windy and broken glass are all problems that can be rectified.
We have the capabilities in our workshop to replicate all original profiles, i.e. astragals, sash wood, sills etc.
Work to the windows can either be carried out at your property or within our workshop depending on the restoration required.
All of our timbers are procured from renewable sources, such as, Redwood, Douglas fir, Meranti and Oak, however, we are able to source most types of timber that come from sustainable grown forests. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
We can also provide a full Painting service.
Restoration is always possible and indeed preferable to a complete replacement.
